Glynne Townsend: Principal

Glynne started his career in Automotive, as an apprentice toolmaker at Lucas (TRW), where he advanced through several technical, design and program management positions before moving into global sales and business unit management. Deciding to become an entrepreneur he joined M.I.T start up, A123Systems, before going on to found companies in the Automotive, Energy Storage and IOT space. Glynne has launched technologies from the University of Michigan, raised capital from VC’s, HNW’s and Government programs, built successful teams, partnered with Fortune 500 companies, grown and exited start-up’s via IPO and Private Sale. He spends his free time in the gym, hiking with his dogs and being a soccer a dad.

Andy Philips: Principal

Before Co-founding 28Gorilla Andy held positions in global engineering leadership at both A.O.Smith and Generac. Managing engineering teams in the US, Europe and Asia. He holds several patent’s in motor design and led Generac’s smart platform initiative and New Product Introduction team. He is a former UL delegate for the standards committee and has founded and launched numerous data based companies including HDScores Inc.
When he’s not leading the technical efforts of 28Gorilla Andy is an American History enthusiast  and longs to play the drum set he still has in his garage from his days in a punk rock college band.

Jordan Klosa: Electrical Engineer

Jordan joined 28Gorilla from Nant Energy where he served as a Senior Engineer developing control algorithm’s for lithium ion Hybrid batteries. Prior to this Jordan worked at Generac Power Systems where he designed, developed and led several microcontroller and wireless connectivity projects.
Jordan is an avid motorcycle enthusiast and spent his early years living in Spain.

Lynne Nethken: Electrical Engineer

Lynne graduated Summa Cum Laude with an degree in Robotics Engineering from ASU, where she was also the Team Captain and a Systems Engineer for AZLoop – Arizona’s SpaceX Hyperloop Competition Team –placing among the top 8 teams out of over 1300 entrants worldwide. She is the Cofounder of Helix Technologies, a spin-out of the program to support Hyperloop development in Arizona. In addition to her role at 28Gorilla, she is pursuing a PhD in Systems Engineering, focusing on the research and development of AI-based systems for human-robot collaboration in space. She likes to practice Archery during her limited free time.

Alyssa Thompson: Electrical Engineer

Alyssa joined 28Gorilla from ASU where she studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering and was part of the Barrett Honors program. When she’s not progressing the bounds of technology she is an animation and cosplays enthusiast and also an artist. Launching her own art startup, Elysianquirks, to promote her work.

Brian Caulfield: Design Engineer

Brian’s background is in manufacturing and design, he has worked in several industries from designing safety critical helicopter components, bicycles, equestrian equipment and Harley Davidson aftermarket products. Amongst his many talents he is a skilled welder, has managed several manufacturing operations and has spent the last 25 years becoming an expert in computer modeling and CAD design.

Rich Atkinson: Electrical Engineer

Rich is 28Gorilla’s big data and analytics lead. Following college he worked at Harley Davidson where he specialized in CAN, EMC and electrical system testing before taking a position at Genrac Power Systems as an embedded systems software engineer.  Rich has held a number of software position since and exercises his entrepreneurial spirit as the CTO of HDScores. When he’s not neck deep in code and databases he likes to play his guitar.

Madi Shano: Marketing Manager

Madi enjoys life, animals, plants and nature but she is also an expert at social media marketing and has worked at the Virginia Piper Cancer Centre, Team Up Corporate Wellness and HDScores where she coordinated news segments with Fox10, ABC15, multiple journalists and was the lead marketing interface with Yelp. 

A former ASU Cheerleader and competitive dancer Madi brings a natural energy to everything she does and rules when it comes to Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter.
